My career started with ten years of investigating child sexual abuse. My therapeutic roles have varied, as a community mental health therapist, a school-based therapist, and psychiatric hospital therapist for adults struggling with SPMI and addiction. I finally settled in private practice in 2020. Couples therapy is often aimed at communication issues, infidelity, or lack of intimacy. These issues are not considered a “medical necessity” and may not be covered by insurance. Although one partner may struggle with a mental health diagnosis, this is not the focus in couples therapy, and that is the reason I charge a private fee rate. 50 minute sessions are $125.
